Ancient Forest

Description

The Ancient Forest was the first location explored in the New World and is teeming with life. The thick lush forest is home to many species of flora and fauna with many smaller ecosystems within its boundaries.

Shorelines:

The area contains midsized grasslands surrounded by the forest and sea. Aptonoth and Kestodon can be seen grazing in this area with large predators venturing here to feed. It is easily the most peaceful area of the Ancient Forest and gives access to the sea as well as the main encampment on the New World, Astera.

Lower Forest:

The lower levels and floor of the forest. It is thick and lush with greenery. Large predators tend to roam down here in the shade. A majority of plant life can be found in the lower levels.

Ancient Tree/High Forest:

The cliffs, canopy, and the ancient tree make up this higher level. Large monsters capable o flight, climbing, and excellent traversal can be found here. These large monsters tend to form their nests here. The ancient tree is the spotlight of the Ancient Forest as well as being the home for many large monsters including a Rath nest at the top.

Notes

The apex monsters of the Ancient Forest are Rathalos and Nargacuga. Many resources are available in this local. Some plants can be used as weapons such as vines that can ensnare a monster. The Ancient Forest can be comparred to the Jurassic Frontier due to its many similarities. The ancient tree was formed when it consumed the bioenergy of dead Elder Dragons. The Ancient Froest recieves a lot a rain, to which a lot accumulate atop the ancient tree, and leaves the possibility of the water breaching under the right conditions. A monster of unknown origin arrived and threatened the ecosystem of the Ancient Forest, but a strange visitor fought and defeated this monster.
